As many of you know I am living and working in Valencia c10 days a month. I am still hoping to get involved in a winemaking project but it's proving trickier than I expected! However over the last 36 months or so I have undertaken a lot of research and been to most of the best wineries!! There are some genuinely delicious and food-friendly styles being made. Most are about 80km inland, here the landscape changes dramatically and vineyards are 300-800 metres above sea level, meaning cooler nights and the ability to make fresher styles of wine. I have been very pleased at how well-received these wines have been! They are also starting to get some seriously good press in the likes of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Decanter etc which is also boosting the wine scene. Please give them a try!
