Fabulous Albarino from one of my favourite producers, great to be able to finally stock and sell it. This 2025 is absolutely spot on Rias Baixaz. Saline, minerally, zesty and delicious!
Upon arrival at the winery, the Albariño grapes were destemmed and pressed then fermented by plot with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless-steel vats (25%) and large oak foudres (75%). Following fermentation, the wine remained in the vats and the foudres for seven months ageing on the fine lees, but without bâtonnage. Malolactic fermentation was blocked in order to preserve a mineral and linear style of Albariño.
A vibrant and expressive Albariño with a wonderfully saline edge. On the nose aromas of zesty citrus fruit and crisp green apple leap out of the glass. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with a mouthwatering acidity and a marked minerality lingering on finish.
