Collection: Monte Del Fra

Monte del Frà is located in the heart of the Custoza area, on the east side of Lake Garda and only 15 Km away from the centre of Verona. It was founded by brothers Eligio and Claudio Bonomo in 1958.

The Monte del Frà areas are well suited to an enriched agriculture. Bordering Pre-Alps to the North and Lake Garda to the West characterise the beautiful province of Verona which represents nowadays the first viticultural geographic area in Italy. The presence of the mountains in the North mitigate the cold winds coming from Northern Europe, and the vast lake mitigate both cold winters and hot summers. The soil, rich in minerals, the morainic hills which are formed by prehistoric glaciers, the abundance of water and solar rays make this area particularly favorable.

This is the place where farmers through experience share their accumulated knowledge, technique of growing grapes and the art of winemaking thereby creating undisputed wines which have worldwide acclaim.

The farm owns 140 hectares. Its history is linked to the grand crus such as Cà del Magro, il vigneto Colombara, Grottino, Staffalo, Monte Godi, Monte Fitti, Mascarpine, Bagolina, Pezzarara and Monte del Frà. For the past decade or so, the Bonomo family have also owned a beautiful winery in the Valpolicella Classica village of Fumane.

The Bonomo family are passionate about nature and believe that the key to great wine is the emphasis put on the cultivation of the vines. The vineyards are planted in Guyot in the areas of Cusotza, Bardolino and Lugana and with the classic "pergola" system in the Valpolicella Classica. The grapes are of very high quality, since the maximum fruit production per plant is 2-3kg.
