Based in the tiny village of Bernouil, just north-east of Chablis, this 23-hectare, family-owned domaine bottle less than 10% of their production so remain relatively unknown.
The wines are splendidly typical of the region – crisp and mineral but with an underlying generosity of palate, making them wonderful yet restrained partners for food.
The soil in the vineyard has a high sand content and has managed to resist phylloxera and avoid the need for grafted rootstocks. Value such as this is relatively unheard of in Burgundy nowadays.
