“One of the great vintages of my career, the 2022s have an intensity of fruit with remarkable energy and tension,” said a happy Eric Forest.


Spring 2022 started with a water deficit, with little rain in the winter. The dry and hot weather resulted in very healthy growth. June and July were dry and scorching with significant water stress. 15th August the grapes began to dehydrate, and the situation became more serious. Thankfully a rainstorm of 20mm arrived, then a week later another 10mm. This seemed too little to me on completely dry soils, but it was enough to revive the maturity of the bunches. I was expecting much lower yields, but I ended up with 50Hl/ha. Perhaps the vines have acclimatised to the hot weather and our biodynamic practices help. Harvest began on the 31st August and finished in 10 days.
