An excellent Bordeaux style blend from Zorgvliet. 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barriques for 21 months. Cedar, black berry, cassis, liquorice and plum on the nose with hints of graphite and toasty oak, a touch of dried herb/tobacco too. A big mouthful of ripe cassis and black cherry with cedar, spice and some fine grained tannins. This is a young wine, loads of fruit, with good structure of acidity and tannin, morello cherry and again a touch of liquorice on the long finish. Needs good aged red meat to show at its best! Will age well over the next decade too.
