Jolandie Fouche, the winemaker and founder of Wolf & Woman, started the project as a passion, and it quickly grew into a full-time career. Her Chenin Blanc is a blend of three vineyard sites, two from the granitic soils of Paardeberg and one from the red iron of Malmesbury. Grapes were whole-bunch pressed, fermented and aged in 300L and 500L old oak barrels.
"A wine whose price is surely set to increase, given the remarkable quality of the liquid in the bottle, Jolandie Fouché's Swartland Chenin is a 70/30 pairing of grapes from the Paardeberg and Malmesbury. Leesy, textured, layered and ferrous, it has thatch and oatmeal top notes, effortless concentration and a subtle cloak of wood spices." 2024-30
