From a single vineyard in McLaren Vale, the vines being over 80 years old. Dry grown bush vines on sandy soils. Wild yeast fermented and mostly whole bunch which gives the wines its lovely crunchy character. 2021 is an excellent vintage and the wine is unoaked to allow the purity of fruit and the terroir of the vineyard to shine through. Perfumed with red berry and dark cherry, a touch of white pepper and spice. Dense and full with lovely sweet concentrated red and black berry and cherry fruit, spice too and the merest hint of mint. Lovely core of fruit. Great match to a festive inspired roast dinner but can see this being great with pork/lamb/beef and rich Mediterranean vegetable dishes. A touch of raspy tannin means this will age well.
