From one of Vienna’s most treasured vineyard sites, the Rosengartel on the Nussberg hill, comes this standout example of Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC—a wine as deeply rooted in history as it is in the limestone soils that shape it. Once favoured by the Habsburg court, this south-facing slope yields wines of elegance, complexity, and unmistakable terroir.
This biodynamically farmed vineyard is planted with a traditional field blend of five varieties: Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Neuburger, Traminer, and Riesling. All are hand—picked and fermented together to create a seamless expression of the site. The nearly 50% Grüner brings structure and spice, while the other grapes add aromatic lift, texture, and depth.
Fermented in stainless steel and matured on fine lees, the wine presents as medium green-gold in the glass, with silver glints. The nose is expressive and exotic, offering layers of ripe peach, mango, and candied citrus. On the palate, it’s juicy and energetic with flavours of white apple and stone fruit, a bright lemony edge, and just a whisper of fruit sweetness on the long finish.
This is Wiener Gemischter Satz at its finest—pure, elegant, and unmistakably Viennese.
