A number of different grape varieties grow together in this old vineyard site, at around 800 metres altitude. The vines are of average age 80-100 years and they grow in clay and sandy soils. After hand-harvesting the grapes are co-fermented in small presses, plot by plot. The wine spends 6 months in used French oak before bottling.
The nose has vibrant red and black fruit characters, floral notes and a hint of balsamic. The palate is complex with bramble and plum fruit, a touch of spice, and ripe tannins adding weight. The finish is long and elegant.
