The nose is complex, exhibiting attractive notes of ripe passion fruit and pink grapefruit all intermingled with hints of lemon grass and freshly baked brioche. On the palate the wine enters full and rich reminiscent of the aromas on the nose. Aged nine months on the lees in one-third new French oak, the wine has amazing clarity and depth with a zesty persistence.
"Cheaper than the Director's Reserve Red, but every bit as good in 2022, this is a superb Stellenbosch cuvée of Sauvignon Blanc and 28% Semillon that wouldn’t look out of place in a tasting of Pessac-Léognan whites. Toasty, waxy and intense, it has aromas of vanilla and roasted almonds, subtle wood spices and a palate of lemongrass and pink grapefruit. 2025-31" 95pts Tim Atkin MW South Africa Report 2025
