Mozia is a small museum island in the lagoon of Marsala, Sicily. Thanks to its microclimate and its soils, based upon a marine ecosystem that has always been linked to the vineyard, this is a unique wine. The first plantings at the vineyard date back to the beginning of the 19th century, when the English, having arrived in Marsala and sensed its potential. Today in Mozia Tasc d@Almerita takes care of about 13 hectares of vineyards, surrounded by archaeological sites dating back to the Phoenician era, expertly guarded today by the Whitaker Foundation.
"The 2024 Grillo Mozia is zesty and intense, bursting from the glass with a savory mix of crushed rocks, wild herbs and lime-infused pears. A pretty inner sweetness opens the wine, quickly contrasted by salty mineral tones and spice, giving a supple yet energetic impression. The finish is long, perfumed and fresh, with lingering tropical citrus notes." 91pts Vinous
