Mozia is a small museum island in the lagoon of Marsala, Sicily. Thanks to its microclimate and its soils, based upon a marine ecosystem that has always been linked to the vineyard, this is a unique wine. The first plantings at the vineyard date back to the beginning of the 19th century, when the English, having arrived in Marsala and sensed its potential. Today in Mozia Tasc d@Almerita takes care of about 13 hectares of vineyards, surrounded by archaeological sites dating back to the Phoenician era, expertly guarded today by the Whitaker Foundation.
Critic tasting note: (2020 vintage) "Hawthorn, citrus, white stone fruit and an inviting whiff of pastry dough form the nose. Savory and boasting a polished texture, the vibrant palate features Meyer lemon, white peach and yellow apple alongside a briny mineral note. Crisp acidity keeps it energized and balanced.
