"The 2023 Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon is from a vineyard in the Boodjidup Valley (just tucked in behind Voyager and Leeuwin, with Steven's Road to the north) in Margaret River. Aromatically, the wine is restrained and leafy, with graphite, pencil shavings, supple red berried fruit (raspberry, pomegranate et al.), with bay leaf, tapenade and nori to boot. This is a sensational wine. This 2023 vintage is the best released by Stella Bella to date. 13.9% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. If there is a looming feeling of fatigue at reading "one of this producer's best" in notes from the Western Australian 2023 vintage, the advice might be to "adapt to it." The vintage was so out of the box; it truly did drag the best from most producers and varieties in each of the regions in WA.
