Willamette Valley, Oregon 2019 marks the first Special Reserve bottling since 2015 and is very small production bottling drawn from half of four select barrels that highlight and marry the diverse characteristics of richness and finesse in this cooler-than-recently-typical vintage as drawn from two distinct parts of Luminous Hills Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton. The power and darker tones flow from the 115 clone on sedimentary soil at the lower elevations, which is coupled with the higher tones and redder fruit profile projected from the 777 clone on the upper elevation volcanic soils. One quarter new French oak along with a balance of successively older barrels (once filled, twice filled and three times filled) round out the edges of this exceedingly balanced vintage while still allowing the fruit, spice and textures play the prominent role in showcasing the vintage. 49 cases produced.
