Willamette Valley, Oregon The Joker’s Wild designation was originally created for a select barrel made from the Pommard clone, but the name Pommard is no longer allowed on labels outside the region of Pommard in Burgundy. When one of this year’s top single barrel selections was from a lot of co- fermented 777 and Pommard, both from Luminous Hills, the Wild again seemed a highly appropriate name. And wild it is with the singular 777 and Pommard blend co-mingling and integrating from cold maceration through fermentation and aging, it is a seamless marriage of the concentrated red fruit of the 777 on a voluptuous foundation of Pommard. It was aged in a twice used Remond barrel made from the Tronçais forest. Only 24 cases produced.
