"The 2021 Chardonnay Westside Farm is a bright straw color and reveals notes of lilac, melon, toast, and candied apples. There’s a phenolic grip on this wine, and it has a long, balanced structure, great length, and a salty finish. It’s going to age fantastically over the coming 8-10 years."
Westside Farms is the Ramey’s 75-acre ranch on Westside Road and has been in use as farmland since the middle 1800s. Almost half the property remains as wild habitat. This vintage is from Block 1, which was planted in 1989 to a Spring Mountain selection. Native yeast fermentation and malolactic all takes places in concrete egg, followed by 20 months entirely in concrete egg.
