"Ava comes from one of the best terroirs for Syrah in South Africa, right on the border between Porseleinberg and the Kasteelberg. Using grapes from the lowest yielding part of the vineyard, all of it on schist soils, it has engaging top notes of liquorice and tarragon, ample concentration from low yields, cooked meat and tapenade flavours and a waft of fynbos and black tea. 2027-35"
