You don't see many straight Frappato's. It's an indigenous Sicilan variety grown near the sea almost exclusively in the region of Vittoria . Best served cool, ruby red with violet hints. Typical aromas of rose, citrus and red fruit. A bright and crunchy palate bursting with red fruit -pomegranate in particular. The tannins are ripe but present giving it some backbone. I really like it and it is a great food wine, like many Sicilian wines being a great match to the usually hard tomato, think seafood pasta, bolognese, pizza, lasagne the Italian classics! Even an arrabiata would work well. Delicious and fresh, vibrant red.
