Pazo Señorans is one of the most iconic and respected wine producers in Spain and the Estate has played a central role in elevating Albariño to the level of world-class white wines.
Selección de Añada is a benchmark Albariño and one of Spain’s most distinguished white wines. A masterclass in complexity, elegance, and longevity; it is aged extensively on lees, showcasing the extraordinary aging potential of Albariño from the granitic soils of the Salnés Valley. After the 2013 vintage scored a perfect 100 points, the following year it was also the highest-scoring white wine from the 2014 vintage in the Guía Peñín.
2015 is a landmark vintage from the estate’s Los Bancales old-vine single vineyard in Rías Baixas.
"Straw yellow with greenish glimmer, lively, bright, and very glyceric. High intensity and very expressive, with a profusion of tertiary aromas from the aging process; elegant notes of kerosene, graphite, and minerals originating from the granitic rock terroir. This combines with primary aromas of baked apple, mango, and quince, with soft hints of rose petals and dried apricots. Stone fruit. Good harmony. Time in the glass makes the wine more expressive, highlighting the significance of the varietal, with tones of fresh fruit. Excellent evolution in the glass that increases the wine’s complexity. Denoting immense volume, unctuousness, and very ripe fruit. Velvety in texture. This strong personality is maintained from beginning to end, accompanied by a well-balanced acidity that gives it a perfect symbiosis of fruit and aging. The finish is balsamic, with a predominantly citrus and fine toasted aftertaste. Rich in nuances. A wine with great fortitude. Ready to drink now but will continue to evolve beautifully for 10-15 years." Tasting note from winemaker, Ana Quintela
” The 2015 Albariño Selección de Añada is nothing short of phenomenal. For some reason, I hadn't tasted the young 2015 Albariño at the time it was released. It comes from the Los Bancales vineyard planted some 50 years ago and fermented with indigenous yeasts but without malolactic fermentation. It has a bright, almost fluorescent color and a complex, subtle and nuanced, elegant and expressive nose, with notes of sea shells and sea breeze, grass and white flowers. It's very clean, and the palate shows great balance and even feels a bit young. It has remarkable acidity and freshness (seven grams of tartaric acid) with good ripeness and 13% alcohol. This matured in tank with lees for over 30 months and was bottled in June 2024. It feels more serious and less exotic than earlier vintages. 18,000 bottles produced. This is the finest vintage that I can remember. Bravo!” 97pts Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate July 2025
