I was one of, if not the first, to import this wine some 10 years ago. This new 2021 is really delicious. The friendly side of natural wine!
The Verdejo grapes are selected from parcels grown in stony clay and limestine soils. They are hand-harvested and are fermented using wild yeasts in stainless steel Malolactic fermentation also takes place spontaneously, then the wine is gently racked and spends around 3 months on lees. No sulphur is added during the vinification process. It's from Rueda but does not conform to the DOC
Pronounced honeyed and floral aromas, pineapple and mango too. Rich and textural, almost creamy though no oak, spice and the peach and mango flavours again. Crisp, yet rich and with plenty of extract. Long and textural. Delicious!
