Old vine white blend of Bical, Sercial, and Cercealinho from an iconic winemaker. From Bairrada this is quite a subtle wine, a wine that grows in the glass revealing stone fruits, spice and a gentle creaminess, delicious wine.
"The 2024 Vinhas Velhas Branco is a wine that has existed since 1990, but now it ferments and matures exclusively in stainless steel. It's a blend of Bical, Sercialinho and Cerceal that fermented with indigenous yeasts and was kept in stainless steel until bottling time. I just love the austere nose with a notable absence of fruit. It's all about crushed rocks, herbs and flowers, and it's balanced, elegant and subtle. It has 12.4% alcohol and 5.1 grams of acidity. It's fresh and light with lots of energy and light.
