"The red 2023 Sensal comes from the lieu-dit or paraje Els Juncarejos and is a blend of four local varieties—Monastrell, Bonicaire, Arcos and Garnacha—from different plots, old and young vines (more and more coming into production, more coming in 2024, including some Forcallà). It was fermented by plot with a high percentage of full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in concrete and 300-liter French oak barrels for 10 months. This cuvée that is growing as the young vines come into production. It showcases the style he's going for in the reds: white soils, sand, finesse, full clusters except for the Monastrell (which he destems 70%) and longer macerations, giving it a very fine thread in the palate, where the tannins are very elegant. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.56 and 5.1 grams of acidity. This is one step up." 94+ Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate
