The 2023 Pinot Noir Westside Farms is laced with dark red cherry fruit, spice, pipe tobacco, mint, dried flowers and incense. Pliant and layered in the glass, with superb persistence, the 2023 has a ton of character. I would give the tannins a bit of time to settle down. There 5% whole clusters are not especially evident.

Westside Farms is the Ramey’s 75-acre ranch on Westside Road and has been in use as farmland since the middle 1800s. Almost half the property remains as wild habitat. This vintage is from Block 1, which was planted in 1989 to a Spring Mountain selection. Native yeast fermentation and malolactic all takes places in concrete egg, followed by 20 months entirely in concrete egg.
