The wines are coming direct from Jaboulet so in pristine condition!
In 1996, Paul Jaboulet Aîné became the proud custodian of the "Domaine Raymond Roure," previously owned by the eponymous family. Situated in the north of Tain l'Hermitage, in the commune of Gervans, this estate encompasses a stunning 1.4-hectare valley, which reveals itself as an incredible ecological habitat with tremendous potential. It is within this sanctuary that we have established our second biodiverse refuge.
An expression of Crozes not from the plains, but from its steeper hillside terroirs, an origin that elevates it beyond the conventional image of Crozes-Hermitage. Planted in 1945, the Roure vineyards are among the oldest in the appellation, where the Syrah vines grow on steep granitic slopes, composed of light granite with large crystals, weathered into fine saprolites. This terroir gives rise to a wine marked by tart red berries, gentle spices, and finely crafted tannins, with great aging potential.
“Opaque ruby. An assertively scented, complex bouquet features mineral-accented boysenberry, cherry liqueur, liquorice and smoky mineral aromas that expand with air. Stains the palate with sweet, dense black and blue fruit, spice cake and candied violet flavours that show a surprisingly graceful touch thanks to a spine of juicy acidity. Velvety, slow-mounting tannins shape a broad, smoke-laced finish that hangs on with superb, floral-driven persistence”. 95 points, Vinous
