There is always more of a softness about Las Lamas compared to Moncerbal and this comes through on the nose with its gorgeously floral, fragrant perfume. Sweet red cherries mix with macerated raspberry fruit and a herbal lift of crushed, wild oregano.
The power of this wine is immediately evident with obvious density and fruit concentration. The tannins are like chalk flakes which smooth out on the palate, like ironing a crease out of the finest white linen. A fabulous slate minerality appears alongside layers of earthy raspberries which culminate in a crescendo on the long, commanding finish of seamless power and finesse. Drink 2026 to 2045.
