Planted 123 years ago, Les Aubaguetes is one of the oldest vineyards in Priorat. The sense of almost spiritual reverence that Álvaro feels towards this unique place is translated by the purest note of incense on the nose. The aromas are gorgeous, fine and intense. Red and black fruit mingle with a seamless mineral purity and a basalt-edged poise.
The palate is amazing; it is like tasting a combination of the tiniest, freshly-picked, intensely flavoured blackcurrants with sweet, just-ripe raspberries. A blueberry-scented bouquet overlays this with a floral perfume of lilac blossom. Fine, fragrant yet so, so mineral, the flavours ascend on the long, herbal and floral-infused finish. Drink 2028 to 2050.
