The vineyards for the Malbec come from the Swartland’s granite rich alluvial soils. These vineyards produce low yields and small concentrated berries. Hand picked and naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks. 30 % whole bunch, 70 % whole berry fermented to add to complexity and tannin structure. A portion spends over a year in used oak barrels too.
The new 2023 is evey bit as good as the debut 2022 and this is a great 'anytime' bottle. Warm and open on the nose with invitingly ripe redcurrant and raspberry fruit and a hint of spice. Juicy and approachable on the palate with a core of gentle red berry fruit nicely balanced by fresh acidity and a rounded, supple finish. A versatile style which goes well with a variety of food such as vegetable lasagne, pizzas or pasta.
