Gomez Cruzado's Blanco '2 Ano' is a Burgundian style which reflects the land, rather than purely varietal expression. The resulting wine has character and weight whilst retaining fresh acidity and appealing aromatics. A blend of Viura and Tempranillo Blanco with a small percentage of Garnacha Blanca and Malvasia. Around a third is aged in new untoasted French oak for 5 months and the rest in concrete tank.
The palate is beautifully textured, with an almost exotic note, evident yet perfectly integrated oak and ripe fruit. Complex and with a long toasty, citrus finish. Great with rice dishes, chicken, and creamy pasta. This was hugely popular at our recent Gomez Cruzado tasting.
