Fabulous Rosado from the Cigales DO.
Las Canteras is a 2-hectare vineyard planted in 1937. Following with the tradition at the time, this vineyard consists of different white and red grape varieties planted on the same plot, mainly Garnacha, Tempranillo, Albillo Mayor and Verdejo (though Verdejo is the main grape along with Garnacha in this wine). The vineyard sits at 768 metres above sea level on southeast-facing slope. Grapes all harvested at the same time, table sorted, cool fermentation then aged on lees in oak foudres for 3 months which helps give the wine its gently creamy, textural feel. Has lovely berry and cherry fruit, s fruit too with gentle spice and the most lovely finish that really elevates the wine. Top quality and one of the best Rosé's i have tried this year.
