La Mujer Caballo named after the extraordinary world of the horse woman- half woman and half horse. Largely coming from one old vineyard, this is a rare variety and it was this vineyard and its fruit that made them seek out similar vineyards. Powerful and savoury, black fruits, spice and liquorice, like all the Fil-loxera wines there is a cool freshness. Made with Ullet de Perdiu (Ojito de Perdiz). "The very aromatic and floral red 2018 La Mujer Caballo Verd is differentiated from the others by its green writing on the label. It's produced with the obscure Ullet de Perdiu grape picked at 15.42% alcohol, but this time with lower acidity than in previous years. It has a liquorish touch, heady and ripe, almost like a late-harvest wine, but the grapes ripen and are picked early. It has some dusty tannins and an earthy rusticity. This is most unusual. 1,194 bottles were filled in August 2019." 91 pts Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate 9/20
