"Fèlsina is a legendary estate, and this wine, while it is not a single vineyard creation, or a Riserva, or special bottling of any kind, behaves like a ‘grand vin’. This is a formal, traditionally shaped Chianti of the highest order, and it is actively youthful, challenging and closed. It demands time, and unlike many estate wines at this age, which drink well, this needs a further three or four years to find equilibrium. This is a fabulous, tense, and toned Chianti, and it is another example of epic value. But you must not be tempted to peek too soon. It is not tannic per se, but remarkably introverted."
