The 2017 Max VIII is a new red blend from their Max VIII vineyard. It's blend of 45% Syrah, 29% Carmenere, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre and 5% Malbec. Fermented in stainless steel and matured for 20 months in French barriques, 30% of them new. Cropped from a warm and dry year, it has some creamy notes along with aromas and flavors of berries and herbs mixing Mediterranean characteristics with cooler ones. Fresh and inviting yet with some secondary notes, perfect with some slow roasted lamb.
