Their Projectas Las Compuertas, consists of seven wines: Criolla, Cordisco, Charbono (Bonarda), Cabernet Franc, two Malbecs and a blend that pays homage to their mother Victoria (Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Cordisco). The vines are planted at 1,050m above sea level and farmed with organic practices. The wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, the Malbec in concrete eggs.
This wine is made from 5 different parcels of Malbec, all grown on different soils. These are then fermented seperately and aged in concrete eggs before assembling the blend.
Wild strawberry, blackberry and spice on the nose. It's intense but not heavy, some savoury graphite notes, hints of liqourice too with ample red and black berry fruits, spicy with good length. Not your average Argentinian Malbec!
