Many of you will know that we’ve long been admirers – and friends – of South African winemaker Donovan Rall. Donovan was named Winemaker of the Year in Tim Atkin MW’s 2025 South Africa Report. His new releases have yet again been met with some great press and trying most of the range this week, we can only concur! His wines have always been exceptional value, utterly delicious in youth, and capable of ageing beautifully.
Stellar vintage conditions in 2025 certainly help, and as Donovan says, “all the specs were spot-on and the grapes were in perfect health. 2025 is like 2015 in being even in quality, well-balanced and attractive from the beginning, but the wines are even classier when it comes to tannin quality and freshness”. Vintage conditions aside, the following elements play a vital role in making the Rall wines what they are: Donovan’s access to great vineyard sites, picking at the right time, and low intervention adaptations in the cellar (particularly using larger format oak in both colours) designed to reflect the year and individual vineyard of a particular wine.
This mixed case is a chance to experience the range of his 2025 releases, along with the best-ever 2024 Rall Red. These are wines that capture both the evolution of a remarkable winemaker and the spirit of South Africa’s modern fine wine scene.
The case contains one bottle of the following nine wines:
Rall Syrah 'Ava' 2025
Rall Chenin Blanc 'Ava' 2025
Rall Chenin Blanc 'Noa' 2025

Rall White 2025
Rall Syrah 2025
