I love this wine and the new 2021 is great. 92% Mencía with 5% other red grapes (Alicante Bouschet, Gran Negro, Pan y Carne and Negreda) and 3% whites (Valenciana, Jerez and Godello. Harvested over a month. Partly destemmed, it fermented in steel and oak casks before aging 8 months in barrels. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. Nice deep nose with dark berry fruits a hint of black olive, meat and the merest hint of oak. Beautifully balanced the dark fruits are ripe and delicately creamy with spice, pepper, olive and a touch of mediterranean herb, long and satisying. Great now but of course it will age.
