"A blend of 94/6% shiraz/riesling. Matured mainly in older French oak barriques for 16 months. The inclusion of riesling here is no gimmick, but you’d be pushed to pick it. Presumably, it brings some levity and reinforces acidity. Indeed, there is a brightness of lift and a sprightly feel to the palate, which still trips through familiar territory – blue and black berries, bay laurel, olive, anise, turned earth and a hint of iodine – but it does so limberly. There’s a slippery rounding of texture across a more mid-weight feel – there’s that levity – with a finely tuneful chorus of tannins an assertive foil." 93pts Halliday Wine Companion
