This is one of the first releases from CVNE's new Ribera project. We have bought a small parcel of this now mature red that's at half price!
The winemaking process is traditional, with pre-fermentation cold maceration in stainless steel tanks and, following fermentation, 18 months ageing in American and French, new and one-year old oak barrels.
The wine shows interesting aromatic complexity with notes of fruit compote and jam blended with aromas of chocolate, coffee, toast, sweet spices and tobacco leaf from the barrel ageing period. On the palate the wine is soft with elegant tannins, personality and an unctuous mouth feel, leading to a long finish with hints of sweet spice.
