"Ava is a schist-derived Chenin Blanc from two sites in Riebeek-Kasteel and always tends to be a little richer and broader than Donovan Rall's Noa bottling. Made from grapes grown on schist-dominated soils, the tiny production of this wine almost never gets above 1,300 bottles. Sourced from two vineyards in the areas of Riebeeksrivier and Kasteelberg, the wine was made using ambient yeast fermentation in small used oak barrels, where it also matured.
