This is a delicious Malvasia from the Fontanars des Alforins region close to Valencia. This is a late-ripening white variety suited to warm mediterranean climates. Floral and perfumed with hints of apricot and a touch of mandarin. Dry and full on the palate yet still fresh and inviting. Stones fruits, mandarin and hints of lime with delicate spice, with the new 2022 there is just a hint of nutty oak on the finish. Would be good with seafood-based rice dishes for sure. Tangy and fresh, yet weighty and concentrated.
