This is a delicious Garnacha from the Fontanars des Alforins region close to Valencia made mostly from the Garnacha Tintorera variety. These are from small goblet shaped vineyards, roughly 40 years old, it's mostly unoaked and vibrant. Perfumed, even slightly floral - blackcurrant, raspberries, blueberries- even a hint of balsamic. Lovely and pure on the palate with vibrant black and red berry fruits, hints of spice, a touch of the sweet fruit of high quality jam, and a creamy finish with some pepper. Lovely weight to this wine, serve it cellar cool, its pretty food-friendly. Just a touch of creamy oak on the finish too.
