The debut release of this new premium Monastrell (Mourvedre) from Clos de Lom in Valencia .
Its a lovely rich, spicy, savoury style, with spice, black pepper and creamy oak. Lovely now but sure to improve.

Located in the lower part of the "Valle de la hombría", this is a single parcel of 3.9 ha. was planted with 100% Monastrell in 1978. At an altitude of 560 meters, the parcel is characterized by having clay-limestone soil. We use a sustainable viticulture, with minimal intervention, low yields and organic fertilization.
WINE MAKING
100% destalking with careful control of fermentation temperature. Cold maceration during 14 days. Ageing of 24 months in 5 selected french oak barrels. 12 months of ageing in bottle.
DECANTER TASTING NOTE
Ripe dark fruit, smoke, sweet spice and herbal nose. A really delicious, nicely-textured style with lovely, rounded chocolate hints and bright acidity. Everything seems integrated and focused. Gets you in the mind for food. 95 points
THE WINERY
Located in Fontanars dels Alforins ( Valencia), is a family winery that takes its first steps in 2018. Winegrowers since 1836, it has been the current generation of the family that has taken the step of selling its own wines. The name of Clos de Lôm, refers to the French surname of their ancestors: Dupuy Du Lôme.
