Fabulous, big, bold Barossa Shiraz from the legend, Chris Ringland
"The 2018 Reservation Shiraz is a "return" to more normal (for Ringland) alcohol, this time at 16.6%. Listening to Chris speak about his winemaking philosophy puts the whole "high alcohol" topic to bed, and it makes sense when amidst a discussion around fruit flavors and tannin. "Alcohol is just a bi-product of the winemaking process," he says. So here, the ripe, warm but eminently balanced 2018 season is on show in all its high-octane capacity: there is aniseed, resin, char, bitter dark chocolate and black olives. And if this style of Chris's is what you seek, head here—the delivery is seamless." 93pts Erin Larkin The Wine Advocate
