Château Briatte is situated in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, just west of Preignac. Michel Roudes is the third generation to manage the property. Their eighteen hectares of vineyards are 90% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc and Gris and 5% Muscadelle.
The grand vin is aged in old oak barrels and offers remarkable value. This is an excellent source of drinking Sauternes.
A rare thing, a totally delicious inexpensive Sauternes! Rich on the nose with peachy fruit and botrytis notes. Peach and apricot on the palate, again hints of botrytis with spiced pineapple, some oak and good acidity.
