Fabulous wine!
"The 2024 Sufreiral is serious and precise, with depth and complexity, and it is a little earthier than the Pico Ferreira, a place that is very close on the other side of the slope but with different soils. This comes from a centenary plot in the village of Toral de los Vados, one of the few plots on limestone-based soils in Bierzo. It fermented in 1,000-liter bins, as he has different small plots that are vinified separately, with 25% full clusters and indigenous yeasts (like all his wines). It matured in 600-liter oak barrels and a 1,200-liter oak vat for 12 months. It's harmonious, subtle and nuanced, with a superb mouthfeel, very fine tannins and a chalky sensation in the finish. This is probably the most complete of the reds, the one with more depth, complexity and aging potential in bottle. It has 13.1% alcohol, a pH of 3.7 and 5.2 grams of acidity. 2,150 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2025.." 98+ pts Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate 10/26
