This is a really attractive Nebbiolo from the Terre Alfieri DOCG in Piedmont. Floral perfumed nose.
Lovely bright Nebbiolo fruit on the palate, sweet cherry with spice, smoky notes, dried herbs too, meaty and yet its the lovely red fruit that shines through. Touch of oak too gives it a lovely, gently creamy finish. Drinking beautifully now and a great introduction to the grape more famous for Barolo and Barbaresco that require several more years aging on the whole.
"Mid ruby with the beginnings of orange tinges. Attractive oak, lifted cherry and cranberry on the nose with a suggestion of tar and cinnamon bark. Surprisingly succulent for Nebbiolo; polished and generous, with long, soft, gritty tannins that build up on the finish. More ambitious than many a Langhe Nebbiolo." 17+ Walter Spellar, Jancis Robinson (2020 vintage)
