Fabulous Cabernet Franc from the Uco Valley. I am increasingly enjoying Argentinean Cabernet Franc.
Grapes are sourced from the Agrelo and Valle de Uco regions of Mendoza. These high altitude vineyards situated between 940 and 1,100 metres above sea level produce fruit of exceptional quality. Vines are vertically trained, with 6,500 plants per hectare. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
The meat & graphite nose follows through on to the palate with shaved pencil notes, fruit of cassis, crushed rocks and ripe cherry tomato. Concentrated yet fine with great varietal typicity -ripe berry fruits, a touch of oak too and a long finish with just a hint of varietal herb.
