Absolutely stunning, minerally, saline Albarino with a lovely depth of flavour. The 2022 i tried earlier in the year was a Wine of The Year contender but ran out, the good news is the new 2023 is even better!!
Delicate white fruits, some flowers, with a streak of limey freshness and saline notes. Aged in a combination of stainless steel and old 500L wooden barrels, A Pedreira is a beautifully crisp-textured, engaging Albarino. A blend of granitic vineyards fermented naturally and blended in the spring. So much energy and freshness, it has riper fruit than many Albarino's but does not lose the laser focussed precise crispness that is so typical in this region. Just delicious, for me its close to perfection in this style of wine.
"2023 was a good year with slow ripening of the grapes, resulting in very tasty wines with good freshness and balance, as seen in the 2023 A Pedreira. It is expressive, clean and elegant and extremely tasty and salty, really impressive. It has structure and balance, 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.35 and 7.7 grams of acidity.
