The grapes are sourced from Borsao's oldest vines, up to 60 years old, planted on uneven clay and limestone soils in the Alto Moncayo - at an altitude of 600-700 metres. Low yields. Maturation for several months in new French oak barriques. Ripe berry with mocha/chocolate, smoky bacon notes and some spice on the nose. Always a crowd pleaser this is bang on ! Ripe sweet berry fruit allied to toasty creamy oak. smoked meat characters, spice, white pepper with chocolate on the long finish. If you like rich, opulent wines then this ticks all the boxes and is a cracking barbecue red. Has a lovely purity of berry and cherry fruit that makes this so attractive. Just a touch more elegant this year and all the better for it.
