It's undeniably a big voluptuous style, and in that way its totally delicious. Masses of fruit, plenty of oak, and good acidity. Balanced and impressive.
"The eponymous red 2023 Aalto has an intoxicating nose of expensive oak, toast, smoke and spices over a core of ripe berry fruit. It has a little less ripeness than in previous years, coming in at 14.5% alcohol and keeping a pH of 3.58 and 5.43 grams of acidity. It's powerful and concentrated, with very fine tannins and very good balance. It should develop nicely in bottle. It's an old-vine Tempranillo cuvée matured in French and American oak barrels for 17 months." 94pts Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate
